Now in Stores: iPhone 3G S

The latest iPhone dubbed the iPhone 3G S went on sale last Friday in Apple stores in the United States. The phone is packed with old features that iPhone users have loved since the smart phone’s initial release but it also comes with new features that will make users fall in love with the phone even more.

The new model comes in 2 capacities: 16GB and 32GB. The phone runs on 3G data rate of 7.2Mbps and comes with the new iPhone OS 3.0. The phone also has a 3mega-pixel auto-focus camera, a support for 30fps video-recording and a video editor application. The old iPhone only had a 2 mega-pixel camera. The old and new versions still do not have external flash. The video editor makes it easy for iPhone users to edit videos before sending them directly toYouTube and other video-sharing channels from the phone using MMS.

Another new feature of the phone is the Compass which should be helpful for people who often use maps. Apple also added Voice Control to the phone. Voice control allows no-dial phone calls. A user just has to say the name of the contact, the phone then repeats the voice command and dials the number of that specific person. The voice command also lets the user play music on his iPhone using only voice commands.

The phone also has a cut, copy and paste feature between applications. The cut, copy and paste application work for words, pictures and videos.

The phone also has an added security feature called Find My iPhone. The service lets you find your phone through a map in the Mobile Me service. You can let you phone play an alert sound so that you can easily find it if you see on the map that it’s nearby. If you left the phone someplace where you can’t get to it right away, you can let it display a message that will help people return it to you. If the phone is not returned safely to you, you can wipe-out important and confidential data from your phone through the remote wipe feature. The remote wipe feature will restore the phone to factory settings.

The iPhone 3G S is being sold for $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the model with the 32GB capacity. Apple also released an 8GB version of the old iPhone for just $99.

The iPhone 3G S is the third iPhone to be released in the market since it was first launched in 2007.
